Height: Inner height to bottom of beam = 8′ 2 1/2″. The peak height depends on the width:

  • 10′ Width = 12′ Height
  • Each 2′ width increment add 6″ height 
  • Example 16×20 would be 13′ 6″ height

Electrical Routing: You can request 1 post with a hole that works as a conduit to run the electrical wires up without them being visible.

Roof: 2×6 tongue and groove roof boards included. These come as lengths and must be cut to during installation.

*Excluded: Shingles or metal for the roof is not included. Most customers choose something to match their property. A local roofing company can do this easily.

*Excluded: Post base brackets are not included. The most common footer is to anchor the post to Sonotube concrete footers. We recommend Ozco Post Base Brackets for $108 per bracket. Another popular footer is the screw piles where they come fitted with a saddle and don’t need additional brackets.

NORWEH Bird’s Mouth

The rafters are designed for easy installation, featuring a notched-out bird’s mouth that securely fits around the support beam. This design ensures a very strong and stable connection.

Footers & Foundations

Every NORWEH Pavilion or Pergola starts with one thing: a strong, stable foundation. We offer two trusted options for footers— both built to stand up to time, weather, and the test of craftsmanship. All footers are recommended to set below the frost line (typically 4ft) so the ground beneath stays stable year-round, preventing shifting or frost heave.

Option 1: Concrete Sonotube Footers

  • 16″ wide x 4 ft deep Sonotube 

  • Concrete-filled and surface-mounted brackets for anchoring

  • Ideal for standard backyard installations and DIY-friendly builds

  • Recommend pairing with Ozco Post Base Brackets for $108 per bracket

Option 2: Screw (Helical) Piles

  • Installed below frost line using specialized equipment

Permits & Engineer Drawings

After purchasing your pavilion or pergola, we provide architectural drawings with dimensions, post layouts, roof elevations, and material specifications. You can have these stamped by a certified engineer in your province or use our engineer stamping service (about $1,600), which applies local wind, snow, and seismic load requirements and delivers permit-ready drawings in 5–7 business days. With stamped drawings, you can apply for a permit, and if revisions are needed, we’ll coordinate with the engineer. Since permit requirements vary, check with your local office early—we’re here to help throughout the process.

When planning your NORWEH Pavilion, it helps to budget for all the major components beyond the kit itself. Here’s an example for a 12×16 2 Gable Pavilion (about 310 sq ft of roof area).

1. Roofing

  • Shingles: $4–$7 per sq ft installed ($1,200–$2,200 DIY)

  • Metal panels: $7–$12 per sq ft installed ($2,200–$3,700)

  • Budget Estimate: around $2,500 based on $8/sq ft for a mid-range material + labor.

2. Installation

  • Professional install: around $4,000-$5,000

  • DIY installation can save labor costs, but we recommend experienced help for best results.

3. Foundation Options (choose one)

  • Concrete sonotube footers: around $2,000 with brackets. ($250–$400 each footer, Ozco post bases at $108 per bracket *not included in kit)

  • Screw (helical) pile footers: around $1,800 ($300–$450 each pile, pre-mounted saddles included with pile)

4. Engineer Drawings (if needed for permits)

  • Around $1,600 for an engineer stamp tailored to your property.

Designed with simplicity in mind, the pavilion assembles using basic tools and a little DIY spirit. Want to skip the build? Shipping is free for each pavilion purchase. A delivery team will schedule an appointment to arrive to your home 5-15 days after shipping on a dedicated truck. The shipping company will discuss details with you to ensure it goes smoothly. 

While we strive for fairness and customer satisfaction, if you find that your claim falls outside the scope of our written warranty, we encourage you to contact us regardless; we’re committed to assisting you and finding mutually beneficial solutions.

Layered Warranty Details

Your pavilion comes with different levels of warranty coverage to ensure long-term satisfaction:

10-Year Coverage: Applies to the primary structure of the Pergola (such as posts, beams, rafters )

2-Year Coverage: Pertains to accessories and any future electrical components.

Warranty Scope

This warranty is exclusively for the original buyer and is non-transferable. It covers only the amount you paid for the product and is valid only in USA. NORWEH reserves the right to either provide a financial reimbursement capped at the original purchase price or supply a replacement product or component parts, which the customer will be responsible for installing.

Exclusions and Limitations

This tiered warranty will NOT cover:

  • Environmental or Act-of-God damage: i.e., sun fading, cracks, extreme weather, natural disasters, or vandalism.
  • Customer-induced damage: i.e., misuse, modifications, or any non-compliant load on the Pavilion structure.
  • Installation errors: i.e., not following the provided installation guide correctly.
  • Mismanagement by third parties: i.e., incorrect storage, maintenance, or installation.
  • Surface or foundational issues: i.e., damage from unstable surfaces like shifting concrete slabs.
  • Late installations: i.e., structure installed more than one year after the purchase date.
  • Lighting and electrical components (covered separately for 2 years).
  • Poor assembly due to ignoring installation guidelines.
  • Structural damage caused by the location where the product is installed.
  • Additional costs such as disassembly, storage, and shipping.


Additional Terms

Warranty benefits may be put on hold if any financial obligations toward NORWEH remains unfulfilled.

Filing a Claim

For warranty claims, send an email to [email protected] within 30 days of identifying the defect. Include all essential details and proofs like invoices and photographs for evaluation. Upon approval, the company reserves the right to send replacement parts or refund the item within 30 days.

Note

This written warranty supersedes any previous warranties and agreements. The company won’t be liable for any other replacements or operational losses. This warranty is regulated by the law of Delaware.

1. Install the product

To effectively make use of the NORWEH 100 Day Risk-Free trial, the customer is required to fully install and mount the pavilion.

2. Trial Period

Our trial period lasts for 100 days. The trial period starts 10 days after the pavilion has been dispatched from our warehouse.

3. Shipping costs

Please note, the customer will be responsible for any return shipping costs, cancellation and restocking fees should they choose to return the products. 

4. No Questions Asked!

If you decide within the trial period that our pavilion isn’t the right fit for you, you’re free to return it. Providing an explanation for your return is not required. We respect your decision, no matter what it may be.

How will my pavilion be delivered, and do I need to be home for it?

Your pavilion arrives in a kit via freight delivery. The delivery company will reach out to you to schedule the final delivery appointment so that you are home to sign for the product. It will loaded of a flat bed truck.

What are the main differences between the models?

We build timber frame pavilions, pergolas and custom kits. The pavilion comes in 4 roof styles; 2 gable, 3 gable, hip, and double hip. The pergola has a lattice roof open air design. To build a custom kit, check this out.

How is the product shipped, and what is the process?

Your pavilion is packed on a pallet and carefully checked by our quality control team. You’ll receive a tracking number and delivery updates after your order has been shipped from our warehouse.

Do you offer custom sizes?

Our light timber pavilions are built in different standard kit sizes but for any custom needs you can contact us or check our custom timber frame kits.

Can I store these somewhere until I’m ready to build?

Yes, you can store the pavilion in a dry and covered space until installation. Many of our customers will store this in a garage or outside covered by a tarp.

Can you hold these for me?

We ship all our orders within the estimated delivery date. Contact us with any questions.

All our structures are engineer approved. Permit requirements vary by location; however, the majority of our customers do not need a permit. Snow Load comparable to 2-3 feet of snow and built to withstand the toughest winters.

Do you offer installation services?

Where are the installation instructions?

Can I modify the height or width of the pavilion?

Can I combine pavilions?

Yes, you can absolutely connect multiple pavilions for a larger covered space. Contact us for more info on this option.

What do I need to install this on?

Many of our customers will install the pavilion on a solid, level foundation such as concrete, wood decking, or stone pavers. Often a concrete footer is needed. Contact our team to discuss further.

Do your pavilions come with a warranty?

Yes, all pavilions come with a 10 year warranty –  our terms and conditions have more information.

What does the warranty cover?

It covers structural defects and material issues. It does not cover damage due to improper installation or weather conditions.
